History
The Department of Law came into existence in 1998-1999 together with the Mandalay Correspondence University. Department of Law of Mandalay University of Distance Education consisted of 2 Professors including, 2 Associate Professors, 2 Lecturers and 4 Tutors.
Currently, Professor Dr.Yin Min Soe is Head of Law Department at MUDE, graduated in LL.B, LL.M, Ph.D.

· The undergraduate programme leading to the Bachelor of Law (LL.B) degree takes 5 years to complete. LL.B graduates will be entitled to join the legal profession after completing one year chamber reading with senior Advocate of the Supreme Court.
· After obtaining the required qualifications, the LL.B graduated can proceed to uphold and maintain further educational quality for which the curriculum and law syllabus are in the same level as those of the other Conventional Universities.
· The academic LL.B programme in law is conducted mostly in English but some subjects are in bilinqual.
